Job Title:              Diving Coach

Reports To:           Athletic Director

 

Primary Purpose:

 

Seeking head diving coach to build a dynamic diving program for the Ringgold School District. The coach will be able to instruct or coach groups or individuals in the fundamentals of the sport, demonstrate techniques, and methods of participation. The diving coach needs to be able to prepare thorough practice and competition plans, encourage student participation, establish rapport, and motivate athletes to achieve maximum potential.

 

Requirements: Experience in diving and coaching diving. Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior Positive, high-energy, and committed. View success not just as winning but as helping team members reach their goals towards continuous improvement.

 

Job Type: Part-time

Coaching Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Essential Functions:

  • The coach will be able to instruct or coach groups or individuals in the fundamentals of the sport, demonstrate techniques and methods of participation.
  • The diving coach needs to be able to prepare thorough practice and competition plans, encourage student participation, establish rapport and motivate athletes to achieve maximum potential.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in diving and coaching diving.
  • Proven experience in teaching and modeling character and responsible behavior.
  • Positive, high-energy, and committed.

 

Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the sport is paramount. Extensive knowledge of current coaching techniques and procedures.
  • Knowledge of NFHS, PIAA, and WPIAL rules.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct and supervise student athletes.

Skills:

  • The coach must possess the ability to communicate in spoken and written word.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The coach must possess the ability to relate to students and to teach them in and out of the pool.
  • The coach must be willing to accept a high level of accountability.
  • The coach must possess the ability to assess athletes and coaches effectively.

Attributes:

  • The coach should be professionally calm and motivationally intense.
  • The coach should be a progressive thinker but a believer in planning and preparation.

 

 

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the applicable policies of the Ringgold School District.
